They struckthe menwhowere at the doorwayof the housewith blindness,bothsmalland great,so that they wearied[themselves trying] to findthe doorway.
Then Elijahsaidto them, "Seizethe prophetsof Baal;do not let oneof them escape."So they seizedthem; and Elijahbroughtthem downto the brookKishon,and slewthem there.
Moreover, they madean oathto the LORDwith a loudvoice,with shouting,with trumpetsand with horns.
"The smalland the greatare there,And the slaveis freefrom his master.
Whoshowsnopartialityto princesNorregardsthe richabovethe poor,For they allare the workof His hands?
He will blessthose who fearthe LORD,The smalltogetherwith the great.
Now it cameabout at midnightthat the LORDstruckallthe firstbornin the landof Egypt,from the firstbornof Pharaohwho saton his throneto the firstbornof the captivewhowas in the dungeon,and allthe firstbornof cattle.
"Whoeverlieswith an animalshall surelybe putto death.
"He who sacrificesto any god,otherthanto the LORDalone,shall be utterlydestroyed.
And those who have turnedbackfrom followingthe LORD,And those whohave not soughtthe LORDor inquiredof Him."
"So,having obtainedhelpfrom God,I standto thisdaytestifyingbothto smalland great,statingnothingbut whatthe Prophetsand Mosessaidwas goingto take place;
sothat therewill not be among you a manorwoman,orfamilyortribe,whoseheartturnsawaytodayfrom the LORDour God,to goand servethe godsof thosenations;that therewill not be among you a rootbearingpoisonousfruitand wormwood.
And I sawthe dead,the greatand the small,standingbeforethe throne,and bookswere opened;and anotherbookwas opened,whichis [the book] of life;and the deadwere judgedfrom the things which were writtenin the books,accordingto their deeds.
Thenthe kingsof the earthand the great menand the commandersand the richand the strongand everyslaveand free manhidthemselvesin the cavesand amongthe rocksof the mountains;
