and worthlessmengatheredabouthim, scoundrels,who provedtoostrongfor Rehoboam,the sonof Solomon,when he was youngand timidand could not holdhis ownagainstthem.
"I am weaktoday,though anointedking;and thesementhe sonsof Zeruiahare toodifficultfor me. May the LORDrepaythe evildoeraccording to his evil."

Then the twoworthlessmencamein and satbeforehim; and the worthlessmentestifiedagainst him, even against Naboth,beforethe people,saying,"NabothcursedGodand the king."So they tookhim outsidethe cityand stonedhim to deathwith stones.

So KingRehoboamstrengthenedhimself in Jerusalemand reigned.NowRehoboamwas forty-oneyearsoldwhen he began to reign,and he reignedseventeenyearsin Jerusalem,the citywhichthe LORDhad chosenfrom allthe tribesof Israel,to putHis namethere.And his mother'snamewas Naamahthe Ammonitess.

So Jephthahfledfrom his brothersand livedin the landof Tob;and worthlessfellowsgatheredthemselves aboutJephthah,and they wentout with him.
They gavehim seventy[pieces] of silverfrom the houseof Baal-berithwith whichAbimelechhiredworthlessand recklessfellows,and they followedhim.
