And they aroseearly;and at daybreakSamuelcalledto Saulon the roof,saying,"Getup, that I may sendyou away."So Saularose,and bothhe and Samuelwentout into the street.
Lotwentout and spoketo his sons-in-law,who were to marryhis daughters,and said,"Up, getout of thisplace,for the LORDwill destroythe city."But he appearedto his sons-in-lawto be jesting.
They had [just] goneout of the city,[and] were not faroff, when Josephsaidto his housesteward,"Up, followthe men;and when you overtakethem, sayto them, 'Whyhave you repaidevilfor good?
"Riseup! Consecratethe peopleand say,'Consecrateyourselves for tomorrow,for thusthe LORD,the Godof Israel,has said,"There are thingsunderthe banin your midst,O Israel.You cannotstandbeforeyour enemiesuntilyou have removedthe thingsunderthe banfrom your midst."
He saidto her, "Getup and let us go,"but therewas noanswer.Then he placedher on the donkey;and the manaroseand wentto his home.
When they camedownfrom the highplaceinto the city,[Samuel] spokewith Saulon the roof.
As they were goingdownto the edgeof the city,Samuelsaidto Saul,"Sayto the servantthat he might goaheadof us and passon, but you remain standingnow,that I may proclaimthe wordof Godto you."
