then hearin heavenYour dwellingplace,and forgiveand actand renderto eachaccording to allhis ways,whoseheartYou know,for You aloneknowthe heartsof allthe sonsof men,
Let Him weighme with accuratescales,And let Godknowmy integrity.
Greatis our Lordand abundantin strength;His understandingis infinite.
They have closedtheir unfeeling[heart], With their mouththey speakproudly.
Let the lyinglipsbe mute,Which speakarrogantlyagainstthe righteousWith prideand contempt.
Would not Godfindthisout? For He knowsthe secretsof the heart.
Do not liftup your hornon high,Do not speakwith insolentpride.'"
They pourforth[words], they speakarrogantly;Allwho dowickednessvauntthemselves.
Allthe waysof a manare cleanin his own sight,But the LORDweighsthe motives.
Ifyou say,"See,we did not knowthis,"Does He not consider[it] who weighsthe hearts?And does He not know[it] who keepsyour soul?And will He not renderto manaccording to his work?
"The fearof the LORDis to hateevil;Prideand arroganceand the evilwayAnd the pervertedmouth,I hate.
The wayof the righteousis smooth;O UprightOne,makethe pathof the righteouslevel.
"Whomhave you reproachedand blasphemed?And againstwhomhave you raised[your] voiceAnd haughtilyliftedup your eyes?Againstthe HolyOneof Israel!
"I, the LORD,searchthe heart,I testthe mind,Even to giveto eachmanaccording to his ways,According to the resultsof his deeds.
"And you have spokenarrogantlyagainstMe and have multipliedyour wordsagainstMe; I have heard[it]."
"NowI, Nebuchadnezzar,praise,exaltand honorthe Kingof heaven,for allHis worksare true and His waysjust,and He is ableto humblethose whowalkin pride."
"'TEKEL--you have been weighedon the scalesand founddeficient.
"Your wordshave beenarrogantagainstMe," saysthe LORD."Yet you say,'Whathave we spokenagainstYou?'
For the wordof Godis livingand activeand sharperthananytwo-edgedsword,and piercingas faras the divisionof souland spirit,of bothjointsand marrow,and able to judgethe thoughtsand intentionsof the heart.
"The MightyOne,God,the LORD,the MightyOne,God,the LORD!He knows,and may Israelitselfknow.If[it was] in rebellion,or ifin an unfaithfulactagainst the LORDdo not saveus thisday!
And I will killher childrenwith pestilence,and allthe churcheswill knowthat I amHe who searchesthe mindsand hearts;and I will giveto each oneof you accordingto your deeds.
Then Zebulsaidto him, "Whereis your boastingnowwith whichyou said,'Whois Abimelechthat we should servehim?' Is thisnot the peoplewhomyou despised?Goout nowand fightwith them!"
But the LORDsaidto Samuel,"Do not lookat his appearanceor at the heightof his stature,becauseI have rejectedhim; for God[sees] not as mansees,for manlooksat the outwardappearance,but the LORDlooksat the heart."
