When Ephraimspoke,[there was] trembling.He exaltedhimselfin Israel,But through Baalhe didwrongand died.
"Whoeverthenhumbleshimselfas thischild,he is the greatestin the kingdomof heaven.
He saidto Him, "OLord,howshall I deliverIsrael?Behold,my familyis the leastin Manasseh,and I am the youngestin my father'shouse."
Then Samueltookthe flaskof oil,pouredit on his head,kissedhim and said,"Has not the LORDanointedyou a ruleroverHis inheritance?
Therefore they inquiredfurtherof the LORD,"Has the mancomehereyet?"So the LORDsaid,"Behold,he is hidinghimselfby the baggage."
Then Samuelsaidto Saul,"Wait,and let me tellyou whatthe LORDsaidto me last night."And he saidto him, "Speak!"
Saulreplied,"Am I not a Benjamite,of the smallestof the tribesof Israel,and my familythe leastof allthe familiesof the tribeof Benjamin?Whythen do you speakto me in thisway?"
