Now it cameabout in the fourhundredand eightiethyearafter the sonsof Israelcameout of the landof Egypt,in the fourthyearof Solomon'sreignoverIsrael,in the monthof Zivwhichis the secondmonth,that he began to buildthe houseof the LORD.
As for the housewhichKingSolomonbuiltfor the LORD,its length[was] sixtycubitsand its widthtwenty[cubits] and its heightthirtycubits.
In the fourthyearthe foundationof the houseof the LORDwas laid,in the monthof Ziv.
and giveto my sonSolomona perfectheartto keepYour commandments,Your testimoniesand Your statutes,and to do[them] all,and to buildthe temple,for whichI have madeprovision."
and Johananbecamethe fatherof Azariah(it was he whoservedas the priestin the housewhichSolomonbuiltin Jerusalem),
Now theseare the foundationswhich Solomonlaidfor buildingthe houseof God.The lengthin cubits,according to the oldstandard[was] sixtycubits,and the widthtwentycubits.
"Thusthey answeredus, saying,'We are the servantsof the Godof heavenand earthand are rebuildingthe templethat was builtmanyyearsago,which a greatkingof Israelbuiltand finished.
And He builtHis sanctuarylikethe heights,Like the earthwhich He has foundedforever.
And at the endof fourhundredand thirtyyears,to the veryday,allthe hostsof the LORDwentout from the landof Egypt.
And on that samedaythe LORDbroughtthe sonsof Israelout of the landof Egyptby their hosts.
Then he broughtme to the naveand measuredthe sidepillars;sixcubitswideon eachside[was] the widthof the sidepillar.
"Goup to the mountains,bringwoodand rebuildthe temple,that I may be pleasedwith it and be glorified,"saysthe LORD.
"Those whoare faroff will comeand buildthe templeof the LORD."Then you will knowthat the LORDof hostshas sentme to you. And it will takeplaceifyou completelyobeythe LORDyour God.
Then the LORDspoketo Mosesin the wildernessof Sinai,in the tentof meeting,on the firstof the secondmonth, in the secondyearafter they had comeout of the landof Egypt,saying,
"When He had destroyedsevennationsin the landof Canaan,He distributedtheir landas an inheritance--[all of which took] aboutfour hundredand fiftyyears.
"But it was Solomonwho builta housefor Him.
Ordo you not knowthat your bodyis a templeof the HolySpiritwho is in you, whomyou havefrom God,and that you are not your own?
Orwhatagreementhas the templeof Godwith idols?For we are the templeof the livingGod;justas Godsaid,"I WILL DWELLIN THEM AND WALK AMONGTHEM; AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD,AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE.
having been firmly rooted[and now] being builtup in Him and establishedin your faith,justas you were instructed,[and] overflowingwith gratitude.
for he was lookingfor the citywhichhasfoundations,whosearchitectand builderis God.
But when Christappeared[as] a high priestof the good thingsto come,[He entered] throughthe greaterand more perfecttabernacle,not made with hands,that is to say, not of thiscreation;
you also,as livingstones,are being builtup as a spiritualhousefor a holypriesthood,to offerup spiritualsacrificesacceptableto GodthroughJesusChrist.
While Israellivedin Heshbonand its villages,and in Aroerand its villages,and in allthe citiesthat are on the banksof the Arnon,threehundredyears,whydid you not recoverthem within that time?
