And Solomonsaton the throneof Davidhis father,and his kingdomwas firmlyestablished.
"Nowtherefore, may it pleaseYou to blessthe houseof Your servant,that it may continueforeverbeforeYou. For You, O LordGOD,have spoken;and with Your blessingmay the houseof Your servantbe blessedforever."
"Goat onceto KingDavidand sayto him, 'Have you not, my lord,O king,swornto your maidservant,saying,"SurelySolomonyour sonshall be kingafterme, and he shall siton my throne"? Whythen has Adonijahbecomeking?'
surelyas I vowedto you by the LORDthe Godof Israel,saying,'Your sonSolomonshall be kingafterme, and he shall siton my thronein my place;I will indeeddosothisday."
"Then you shall comeup afterhim, and he shall comeand siton my throneand be kingin my place;for I have appointedhim to be ruleroverIsraeland Judah."
"Besides,Solomonhas eventakenhis seaton the throneof the kingdom.
So the kingcommandedBenaiahthe sonof Jehoiada,and he wentout and fellupon him so that he died.Thus the kingdomwas establishedin the handsof Solomon.
Now when Davidreachedoldage,he madehis sonSolomonkingoverIsrael.
Now Solomonthe sonof Davidestablishedhimself securelyoverhis kingdom,and the LORDhis God[was] with him and exaltedhim greatly.
"Ifyour sonswill keepMy covenantAnd My testimonywhichI will teachthem, Their sonsalsoshall situpon your throneforever."
