"Arise,goto Zarephath,whichbelongs to Sidon,and staythere;behold,I have commandeda widowthereto providefor you."
As she was goingto get[it], he calledto her and said,"Pleasebringme a pieceof breadin your hand."
"It shall be that you will drinkof the brook,and I have commandedthe ravensto providefor you there."
Then the wordof the LORDcameto him, saying,
Then he lookedand behold,there was at his heada breadcake[baked on] hotstones,and a jarof water.So he ateand drankand laydownagain.
And the exilesof thishostof the sonsof Israel,Whoare [among] the Canaanitesas faras Zarephath,And the exilesof Jerusalemwhoare in SepharadWill possessthe citiesof the Negev.
and yet Elijahwas sentto noneof them, but onlyto Zarephath,[in the land] of Sidon,to a womanwho was a widow.
But we havethistreasurein earthenvessels,sothat the surpassing greatnessof the powerwill be of Godand not from ourselves;
The LORDsaidto Gideon,"The peoplewhoare with you are toomanyfor Me to giveMidianinto their hands,for Israelwould becomeboastful,saying,My own powerhas deliveredme.'
Then the LORDsaidto Gideon,"The peopleare stilltoo many;bringthem downto the waterand I will testthem for you there.Therefore it shall be that he of whomI sayto you, 'Thisoneshall gowith you,' he shall gowith you; but everyoneof whomI sayto you, 'Thisoneshall not gowith you,' he shall not go."
