He boughtthe hillSamariafrom Shemerfor two talentsof silver;and he builton the hill,and namedthe citywhichhe builtSamaria,afterthe nameof Shemer,the ownerof the hill.
So Omrisleptwith his fathersand was buriedin Samaria;and Ahabhis sonbecamekingin his place.
Ahabthe sonof Omrididevilin the sightof the LORDmorethanallwhowere beforehim.
Ahabalso madethe Asherah.Thus Ahabdidmoreto provokethe LORDGodof Israelthanallthe kingsof Israelwhowere beforehim.

But the troopswhomAmaziahsentbackfrom goingwith him to battle,raidedthe citiesof Judah,from Samariato Beth-horon,and struckdown3000of them and plunderedmuchspoil.
