It cameabout as soon as he was king,he struckdownallthe householdof Jeroboam.He did not leaveto Jeroboamanypersonsalive,untilhe had destroyedthem, according to the wordof the LORD,whichHe spokeby His servantAhijahthe Shilonite,
Thiseventbecamesinto the houseof Jeroboam,even to blot[it] out and destroy[it] from offthe faceof the earth.
So Baashakilledhim in the thirdyearof Asakingof Judahand reignedin his place.
It cameabout when he becameking,as soon as he saton his throne,that he killedallthe householdof Baasha;he did not leavea single male,neither of his relativesnor of his friends.
behold,I will consumeBaashaand his house,and I will makeyour houselike the houseof Jeroboamthe sonof Nebat.
Moreover,the wordof the LORDthroughthe prophetJehuthe sonof HananialsocameagainstBaashaand his household,both becauseof allthe evilwhichhe didin the sightof the LORD,provokingHim to angerwith the workof his hands,in beinglike the houseof Jeroboam,and becausehe struckit.
and I will makeyour houselike the houseof Jeroboamthe sonof Nebat,and like the houseof Baashathe sonof Ahijah,becauseof the provocationwith whichyou have provoked[Me] to anger,and [because] you have made Israelsin.
But Jehuwas not carefulto walkin the lawof the LORD,the Godof Israel,with allhis heart;he did not departfrom the sinsof Jeroboam,whichhe made Israelsin.
Have you not heard?LongagoI didit; From ancienttimesI plannedit. NowI have broughtit to pass,That you should turnfortifiedcitiesinto ruinousheaps.
