Thenthe peopleof Israelwere dividedinto twoparts:halfof the peoplefollowedTibnithe sonof Ginath,to makehim king;the [other] halffollowedOmri.
"But do not be calledRabbi;for Oneis your Teacher,and you are allbrothers.
He broughthim to Jesus.Jesuslookedat him and said,"You are Simonthe sonof John;you shall be calledCephas"(whichis translatedPeter).

It happenedthat whileApolloswas at Corinth,Paulpassed throughthe uppercountryand cameto Ephesus,and foundsomedisciples.
For I have been informedconcerningyou, my brethren,by Chloe's[people], that there are quarrelsamongyou.
and that He appearedto Cephas,thento the twelve.
NowI saythis,brethren,that fleshand bloodcannotinheritthe kingdomof God;nordoes the perishableinheritthe imperishable.
But concerningApollosour brother,I encouragedhim greatlyto cometo you with the brethren;and it was not at all[his] desireto comenow,but he will comewhenhe has opportunity.
Nowthese things,brethren,I have figuratively appliedto myselfand Apollosfor your sakes,sothat in us you may learnnot to exceedwhatis written,sothat nooneof you will become arrogantin behalfof oneagainstthe other.
But thisI say,brethren,the timehas beenshortened,sothat from nowon thosewho havewivesshould be as thoughthey hadnone;
Do we not havea rightto take alonga believingwife,evenas the restof the apostlesand the brothersof the Lordand Cephas?
You are lookingat things as they are outwardly.Ifanyoneis confidentin himselfthat he is Christ's,let him considerthisagainwithinhimself,that justas he is Christ's,soalsoare we.
Nowthis[I say], he who sowssparinglywill alsoreapsparingly,and he who sowsbountifullywill alsoreapbountifully.
and recognizingthe gracethat had been givento me, Jamesand Cephasand John,who were reputedto be pillars,gaveto me and Barnabasthe right handof fellowship,sothat we [might] [go] to the Gentilesand they to the circumcised.
What I am sayingis this:the Law,which camefour hundredand thirtyyearslater,does not invalidatea covenantpreviously ratifiedby God,soas to nullifythe promise.
