"I will be his fatherand he shall be My son;and I will not takeMy lovingkindnessawayfrom him, as I tookit from him whowas beforeyou.
But to his sonI will giveonetribe,that My servantDavidmay havea lampalwaysbeforeMe in Jerusalem,the citywhereI have chosenfor Myself to putMy name.
and did not inquireof the LORD.Therefore He killedhim and turnedthe kingdomto Davidthe sonof Jesse.
"He shall buildfor Me a house,and I will establishhis throneforever.
"But I will settlehim in My houseand in My kingdomforever,and his throneshall be establishedforever."'"
Dohomageto the Son,that He not becomeangry,and you perish[in] the way,For His wrathmay soonbe kindled.How blessedare allwho takerefugein Him!
"I will surelytellof the decreeof the LORD:He saidto Me, 'You are My Son,TodayI have begottenYou.
"Inclineyour earand cometo Me. Listen,that you may live;And I will makean everlastingcovenantwith you, [According to] the faithfulmerciesshown to David.
"He will be greatand will be calledthe Sonof the Most High;and the LordGodwill giveHim the throneof His fatherDavid;
Thena voicecameout of the cloud,saying,"Thisis My Son,[My] ChosenOne; listento Him!"
"The Fatherlovesthe Sonand has givenall thingsinto His hand.
"And I will be a fatherto you, And you shall be sonsand daughtersto Me," Saysthe LordAlmighty.
For to whichof the angelsdid He eversay,"YOU ARE MY SON,TODAYI HAVE BEGOTTENYOU"? And again,"I WILL BE A FATHERTO HIM AND HE SHALL BE A SONTO ME"?
So Samuelsaidto him, "The LORDhas tornthe kingdomof Israelfrom you todayand has givenit to your neighbor,who is betterthanyou.
