and saidto them, "You are the headsof the fathers'[households] of the Levites;consecrateyourselves both you and your relatives,that you may bringup the arkof the LORDGodof Israelto [the place] that I have preparedfor it.
Now [David] builthousesfor himself in the cityof David;and he prepareda placefor the arkof Godand pitcheda tentfor it.
So the priestsand the Levitesconsecratedthemselves to bringup the arkof the LORDGodof Israel.
And DavidassembledallIsraelat Jerusalemto bringup the arkof the LORDto its placewhichhe had preparedfor it.
And they broughtin the arkof Godand placedit insidethe tentwhichDavidhad pitchedfor it, and they offeredburntofferingsand peaceofferingsbeforeGod.
Thesealsocastlotsjustas their relativesthe sonsof Aaronin the presenceof Davidthe king,Zadok,Ahimelech,and the headsof the fathers'[households] of the priestsand of the Levites--the headof fathers'[households] as wellas those of his youngerbrother.
Thesewere headsof fathers'[households] of the Levitesaccording to their generations,chiefmen,wholivedin Jerusalem.
Solomonspoketo allIsrael,to the commandersof thousandsand of hundredsand to the judgesand to everyleaderin allIsrael,the headsof the fathers'[households].
However,Davidhad broughtup the arkof Godfrom Kiriath-jearimto the place he had preparedfor it, for he had pitcheda tentfor it in Jerusalem.
Then they slaughteredthe Passover[lambs] on the fourteenthof the secondmonth.And the priestsand Leviteswere ashamedof themselves, and consecratedthemselves and broughtburntofferingsto the houseof the LORD.
"Now slaughterthe Passover[animals], sanctifyyourselves and preparefor your brethrento doaccording to the wordof the LORDby Moses."
When the priestscameforthfrom the holyplace (for allthe priestswho were presenthad sanctifiedthemselves, withoutregardto divisions),
ThenSolomonassembledto Jerusalemthe eldersof Israeland allthe headsof the tribes,the leadersof the fathers'[households] of the sonsof Israel,to bringup the arkof the covenantof the LORDout of the cityof David,whichis Zion.
And I commandedthe Levitesthat they should purifythemselves and comeas gatekeepersto sanctifythe sabbathday.[For] thisalsorememberme, O my God,and havecompassionon me according to the greatnessof Your lovingkindness.
Depart,depart,goout from there,Touchnothingunclean;Goout of the midstof her, purifyyourselves, You who carrythe vesselsof the LORD.
"[It shall be] for the priestswho are sanctifiedof the sonsof Zadok,whohave keptMy charge,whodid not goastraywhen the sonsof Israelwentastrayas the Leviteswentastray.
"Sanctifythem in the truth;Your wordis truth.
