They were therewith Davidthreedays,eatingand drinking,for their kinsmenhad preparedfor them.
Then he madethem a feast,and they ateand drank.
Then Jacoboffereda sacrificeon the mountain,and calledhis kinsmento the meal;and they atethe mealand spentthe nighton the mountain.
"The sceptershall not departfrom Judah,Northe ruler'sstafffrom betweenhis feet,UntilShilohcomes,And to him [shall be] the obedienceof the peoples.
Then allthe menof Judahansweredthe menof Israel,"Becausethe kingis a closerelativeto us. Whythen are you angryaboutthismatter?Have we eatenat allat the king's[expense], orhas anythingbeen takenfor us?"
Further, he distributedto allthe people,to allthe multitudeof Israel,bothto menand women,a cakeof breadand oneof datesand oneof raisinsto eachone.Then allthe peopledepartedeachto his house.
Now theseare the headsof the mightymenwhomDavidhad, who gavehim strongsupportin his kingdom,togetherwith allIsrael,to makehim king,according to the wordof the LORDconcerningIsrael.
Allthese,being menof warwho could drawup in battleformation,cameto Hebronwith a perfectheartto makeDavidkingoverallIsrael;and allthe restalsoof Israelwere of onemindto makeDavidking.
Moreover those who were nearto them, [even] as faras Issacharand Zebulunand Naphtali,broughtfoodon donkeys,camels,mulesand on oxen,greatquantitiesof flourcakes,figcakesand bunchesof raisins,wine,oil,oxenand sheep.There was joyindeedin Israel.
