Canst thou bind the wild-ox with his band in the furrow? Or will he harrow the valleys after thee?

Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands; wherewith ye fight against the king of Babylon, and against the Chaldeans which besiege you, without the walls, and I will gather them into the midst of this city.


therefore behold, I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated; I will even gather them against thee on every side, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness.


So will I satisfy my fury upon thee, and my jealousy shall depart from thee, and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry.


For thus saith the Lord GOD I will bring up an assembly against them, and will give them to be tossed to and fro and spoiled.


Wherefore I delivered her into the hand of her lovers, into the hand of the Assyrians, upon whom she doted.


Thus shall mine anger be accomplished, and I will satisfy my fury upon them, and I will be comforted: and they shall know that I the LORD have spoken in my zeal, when I have accomplished my fury upon them.


O Israel, thou hast sinned from the days of Gibeah: there they stood; that the battle against the children of iniquity should not overtake them in Gibeah.


The wind hath wrapped her up in its wings; and they shall be ashamed because of their sacrifices.


And it shall be, like people, like priest: and I will punish them for their ways, and will reward them their doings.


SET the trumpet to thy mouth. As an eagle he cometh against the house of the LORD: because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.


Yea, though they hire among the nations, now will I gather them; and they begin to be minished by reason of the burden of the king of princes.


But the king was wroth; and he sent his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.


And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to cause you to perish, and to destroy you; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest in to possess it.
