So Joshua arose, and all the people of war, to go up to Ai: and Joshua chose out thirty thousand men, the mighty men of valour, and sent them forth by night.


Then Joshua built an altar unto the LORD, the God of Israel, in mount Ebal,


And Joshua sent them forth: and they went to the ambushment, and abode between Beth-el and Ai, on the west side of Ai: but Joshua lodged that night among the people.


Then Gideon built an altar there unto the LORD, and called it Jehovah-shalom: unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.


To them which were in Beth-el, and to them which were in Ramoth of the South, and to them which were in Jattir;
