The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”


Many of his disciples, when they heard it, said, “This is a hard saying; who can listen to it?”


What does he mean by saying, ‘You will seek me and you will not find me,’ and, ‘Where I am you cannot come’?”


They did not understand that he spoke to them of the Father.


Why do you not understand what I say? It is because you cannot bear to hear my word.


The unspiritual man does not receive the gifts of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.


It has happened to them according to the true proverb, The dog turns back to his own vomit, and the sow is washed only to wallow in the mire.


And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, to know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.
