Thy foot he'll not let slide, nor will he slumber that thee keeps.


The Lord shall keep thy soul; he shall preserve thee from all ill.


And in my way my steps thou hast enlarged under me, That I go safely, and my feet are kept from sliding free.


Mine en'mies I pursued have, and did them overtake; Nor did I turn again till I an end of them did make.


For I said, Hear me, lest they should rejoice o'er me with pride; And o'er me magnify themselves, when as my foot doth slide.


Back from thy way our heart not turn'd; our steps no straying made;


When I had uttered this word, (my foot doth slip away,) Thy mercy held me up, O Lord, thy goodness did me stay.
