When King David came to Bahurim, a man of the family of the house of Saul came out whose name was Shimei son of Gera; he came out cursing.
But the priest Zadok, and Benaiah son of Jehoiada, and the prophet Nathan, and Shammah and his companions, David’s own warriors, did not side with Adonijah.
And the sons of Shimei: Jahath, Zina, Jeush, and Beriah. These four were the sons of Shimei.
The sons of Pedaiah: Zerubbabel and Shimei; and the sons of Zerubbabel: Meshullam and Hananiah, and Shelomith was their sister;
Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters, but his brothers did not have many children, nor did all their family multiply like the Judeans.

The sons of Merari by their clans: Mahli and Mushi. These were the clans of the Levites, by their ancestral houses.
To Gershon belonged the clan of the Libnites and the clan of the Shimeites; these were the clans of the Gershonites.
