I will dwell among the Israelites and will not forsake my people Israel.”
“But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Even heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain you, much less this house that I have built!
Then the anger of the Lord was kindled against his people, and he abhorred his heritage;
And they shall know that I am the Lord their God, who brought them out of the land of Egypt that I might dwell among them; I am the Lord their God.
Do not spurn us, for your name’s sake; do not dishonor your glorious throne; remember and do not break your covenant with us.
The Lord has scorned his altar, disowned his sanctuary; he has delivered into the hand of the enemy the walls of her palaces; a clamor was raised in the house of the Lord as on a day of festival.
You shall know that I am in the midst of Israel and that I, the Lord, am your God and there is no other. And my people shall never again be put to shame.
You shall not follow the practices of the nation that I am driving out before you. Because they did all these things, I abhorred them.
if you spurn my statutes and abhor my ordinances, so that you will not observe all my commandments and you break my covenant,
For the land shall be deserted by them and enjoy its Sabbath years by lying desolate without them, while they shall make amends for their iniquity, because they dared to spurn my ordinances, and they abhorred my statutes.
Yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not spurn them or abhor them so as to destroy them utterly and break my covenant with them, for I am the Lord their God,
In one month I disposed of the three shepherds, for I had become impatient with them, and they also detested me.

But now, if your land is unclean, cross over into the Lord’s land, where the Lord’s tabernacle now stands, and take for yourselves a possession among us; only do not rebel against the Lord or rebel against us by building yourselves an altar other than the altar of the Lord our God.
