One Sabbath he was going through the grain fields, and as they made their way his disciples began to pluck heads of grain.


On one occasion when Jesus was going to the house of a leader of the Pharisees to eat a meal on the Sabbath, they were watching him closely.


Therefore the Jews started persecuting Jesus, because he was doing such things on the Sabbath.


At once the man was made well, and he took up his mat and began to walk. Now that day was a Sabbath.
