Does it seem good to you to oppress, to despise the work of your hands and favor the schemes of the wicked?


Why do you, like God, pursue me, never satisfied with my flesh?


“As God lives, who has taken away my right, and the Almighty, who has made my soul bitter,


Why is light given to one who cannot see the way, whom God has fenced in?


You have turned cruel to me; with the might of your hand you persecute me.


Will you even put me in the wrong? Will you condemn me that you may be justified?


Turn, I pray; let no wrong be done. Turn now; my vindication is at stake.


If I sin, what do I do to you, you watcher of humanity? Why have you made me your target? Why have I become a burden to you?


Does God pervert justice? Or does the Almighty pervert the right?


I will spread my net over him, and he shall be caught in my snare, and I will bring him to Babylon, the land of the Chaldeans, yet he shall not see it, and he shall die there.


Thus says the Lord God: In an assembly of many peoples I will throw my net over you, and I will haul you up in my dragnet.


As they go, I will cast my net over them; I will bring them down like birds of the air; I will discipline them according to the report made to their assembly.
