who say to the seers, “Do not see,” and to the prophets, “Do not prophesy to us what is right; speak to us smooth things; prophesy illusions;
No one brings suit justly; no one goes to law honestly; they rely on empty pleas; they speak lies, conceiving mischief and bearing iniquity.
This is your lot, the portion I have measured out to you, says the Lord, because you have forgotten me and trusted in lies.
How long? Will the hearts of the prophets ever turn back—those who prophesy lies and who prophesy the deceit of their own heart?
