“Ah Lord God! It is you who made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.


They keep saying to those who despise the word of the Lord, “It shall be well with you,” and to all who stubbornly follow their own stubborn hearts, they say, “No calamity shall come upon you.”


They have treated the wound of the daughter of my people carelessly, saying, “Peace, peace,” when there is no peace.

Your ways and your doings have brought this upon you. This is your doom; how bitter it is! It has reached your very heart.”


Then I said, “Ah, Lord God! Truly I do not know how to speak, for I am only a boy.”


Why, O Lord, do you let us stray from your ways and let our heart harden, so that we do not fear you? Turn back for the sake of your servants, the tribes that are your heritage.

For this time I will send all my plagues upon you yourself, your officials, and your people, so that you may know that there is no one like me in all the earth.
