Then Jacob called his sons and said, “Gather around, that I may tell you what will happen to you in days to come.
And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the splendor and pride of the Chaldeans, will be like Sodom and Gomorrah when God overthrew them.
Look, there they come, riders, horsemen in pairs!” Then he responded, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon, and all the images of her gods lie shattered on the ground.”
Let them bring them and tell us what is to happen. Tell us the former things, what they were, so that we may consider them and that we may know their outcome or declare to us the things to come.
Let all the nations gather together, and let the peoples assemble. Who among them declared this and foretold to us the former things? Let them bring their witnesses to justify them, and let them hear and say, “It is true.”
