The strong shall become like tinder and their work like a spark; they and their work shall burn together, with no one to quench them.


It will never be inhabited or lived in for all generations; Arabs will not pitch their tents there; shepherds will not make their flocks lie down there.


Now the Lord is about to lay waste the earth and make it desolate, and he will twist its surface and scatter its inhabitants.


He has cast the lot for them; his hand has portioned it out to them with the line. [[They shall possess it; from generation to generation they shall live in it.

and cried out as they saw the smoke of her burning, “What city was like the great city?”


Once more they said, “Hallelujah! The smoke goes up from her forever and ever.”
