so I will again do amazing things with this people, shocking and amazing. The wisdom of their wise shall perish, and the discernment of the discerning shall be hidden.


so I will choose their punishments and bring upon them what they fear, because, when I called, no one answered, when I spoke, they did not listen, but they did what was evil in my sight and chose what did not please me.


Hear this, O foolish and senseless people, who have eyes but do not see, who have ears but do not hear.

So they disagreed with each other, and as they were leaving Paul made one further statement: “The Holy Spirit was right in saying to your ancestors through the prophet Isaiah,


But to this day the Lord has not given you a mind to understand or eyes to see or ears to hear.
