6 And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: if any man be able to number the dust of the earth, he shall be able to number thy seed also.


And he thought him forth abroad, and said to him: Look up to heaven and number the stars, if thou canst. And he said to him: So shall thy seed be.


0 And as for Ismael I have also heard thee. Behold, I will bless him, and increase, and multiply him exceedingly: he shall beget twelve chiefs, and I will make him a great nation.


8 "Seeing he shall become a great and mighty nation, and in him all the nations of the earth shall be blessed?


9 For I know that he will command his children, and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord, and do judgment and justice: that for Abraham's sake the Lord may bring to effect all the things he hath spoken unto him.


9 Now when God destroyed the cities of that country, remembering Abraham, he delivered Lot out of the destruction of the cities wherein he had dwelt.


Now Abraham was old; and advanced in age: and the Lord had blessed him in all things.


5 And the Lord hath blessed my master wonderfully, and he is become great: and he hath given him sheep and oxen, silver and gold, menservants and womenservants, camels and asses.


1 And after his death, God blessed Isaac his son, who dwelt by the well named Of the living and seeing.


And sojourn in it, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee: for to thee and to thy seed I will give all these countries, to fulfill the oath which I swore to Abraham thy father.


And I will multiply thy seed like the stars of heaven: and I will give to thy posterity all these countries: and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed.


0 Isaac had scarce ended his words, when Jacob being now gone out abroad, Esau came,


5 And I will be thy keeper whithersoever thou goest, and will bring thee back into this land: neither will I leave thee, till I shall have accomplished all that I have said.


2 And the land which I gave to Abraham and Isaac, I will give to thee, and to thy seed after thee.


I will go down with thee thither, and will bring thee back again from thence: Joseph also shall put his hands upon thy eyes.


4 I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son: and if he commit any iniquity, I will correct him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men.


2 And Solomon said: If he be a good man, there shall not so much as one hair of his head fall to the ground: but if evil be found in him, he shall die.


4 Yea when thou shalt say : He considereth not : be judged before him, and expect him.


Arise, my glory; arise, psaltery and harp: I will arise in the morning early.


And he said to his people: Behold the people of the children of Israel are numerous and stronger than we.


3 Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou sworest by thy own self, saying: I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven: and this whole land that I have spoken of, I will give to you seed, and you shall possess it for ever.


0 Hast not thou dried up the sea, the water of the mighty deep, who madest the depth of the sea a way, that the delivered might pass over?


Thus saith the Lord God: Behold I come against thee, mount Seir, and I will stretch forth my hand upon thee, and I will make thee desolate and waste.


But with a flood that passeth by, he will make an utter end of the place thereof: and darkness shall pursue his enemies.


1 And the inhabitants go one to another, saying: Let us go, and entreat the face of the Lord, and let us seek the Lord of hosts: I also will go.


7 Let their the strength of the Lord be magnified, as thou hast sworn, saying:


7 For I am ready to honour thee, and will give thee whatsoever thou wilt: come and curse this people.


5 And Balac said to Balaam: Neither curse, nor bless him.


9 And he was not weak in faith; neither did he consider his own body now dead, whereas he was almost an hundred years old, nor the dead womb of Sara.


3 But before the faith came, we were kept under the law shut up, unto that faith which was to be revealed.


6 To Abraham were the promises made and to his seed. He saith not, And to his seeds, as of many: but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.


0 And therefore now I offer the firstfruits of the land which the Lord hath given me. And thou shalt leave them in the sight of the ford thy God, adoring the Lord thy God.
