And the Lord appeared to Abram, and said to him: To thy seed will I give this land. And he built there an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him.


5 All the land which thou seest, I will give to thee, and to thy seed for ever.


7 Arise and walk through the land in the length, and in the breadth thereof: for I will give it to thee.


8 That day God made a covenant with Abram, saying: To thy seed will I give this land, from the river of Egypt even to the great river Euphrates.


9 And God said to Abraham: Sara thy wife shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name Isaac, and I will establish my covenant with him for a perpetual covenant, and with his seed after him.


And I will give to thee, and to thy seed, the land of thy sojournment, all the land of Chanaan for a perpetual possession, and I will be their God.


Abraham removed from thence to the south country, and dwelt between Cedes and Sur, and sojourned in Gerara.


1 And after his death, God blessed Isaac his son, who dwelt by the well named Of the living and seeing.


2 And Isaac sowed in that land, and he found that same year a hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him.


4 And he had possessions of sheep and of herds, and a very great family. Wherefore the Palestines envying him,


4 Where the Lord appeared to him that same might, saying: I am the God of Abraham thy father; do not fear, for I am with thee: I will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham's sake.


4 And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth: thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and IN THEE and thy seed all the tribes of the earth SHALL BE BLESSED.


6 And when Jacob awaked out of sleep, he said: Indeed the Lord is in this place, and I knew it not.


He sent, and called Rachel and Lia into the field, where he fed the flocks,


Who knew very well that the Lord was with him, and made all that he did to prosper in his hand.


2 Who delivered into his hand all the prisoners that were kept in custody: and whatsoever was done was under him.


2 I give thee a portion above thy brethren, which I took out of the hand of the Amorrhite a with my sword and bow.


6 And he died being a hundred and ten years old. And being embalmed he was laid in a coffin in Egypt.


1 He suffered no man to do them wrong: and reproved kings for their sake.


5 Touch ye not my anointed: and do no evil to my prophets.


6 And he called a famine upon the land: and he broke in pieces all the support of bread.


For the word of the Lord is right, and all his works are done with faithfulness.


Sacrifice and oblation thou didst not desire; but thou hast pierced ears for me. Burnt offering and sin offering thou didst not require :


Now Moses fed the sheep of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Madian: and he drove the flock to the inner parts of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, Horeb.


4 God said to Moses: I AM WHO AM. He said: Thus shalt thou say to the children of Israel: HE WHO IS, hath sent me to you.


Therefore say to the children of Israel: I am the Lord who will bring you out from the work prison of the Egyptians, and will deliver you from bondage: and redeem you with a high arm, and great judgments.


And Moses told all this to the children of Israel: but they did not hearken to him, for anguish of spirit, and most painful work.


0 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying


0 You are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that you may know, and believe me, and understand that I myself am. Before me there was no God formed, and after me there shall be none.


3 And from the beginning I am the same, and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall turn it away?


But with a flood that passeth by, he will make an utter end of the place thereof: and darkness shall pursue his enemies.


4 Behold the people shall rise up as a lioness, and shall lift itself up as a lion: it shall not lie down till it devour the prey, and drink the blood of the slain.


3 Let me have from among you wise and understanding men, and such whose conversation is approved among your tribes, that I may appoint them your rulers.


And Josue the son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom, because Moses had laid his hands upon him. And the children of Israel obeyed him, and did as the Lord commanded Moses.


8 But I have all, and abound: I am filled, having received from Epaphroditus the things you sent, an odour of sweetness, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.


8 (To whom it was said: In Isaac shall thy seed be called.)


But he, whose pedigree is not numbered among them, received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises.
