Jesus said to him, “Truly I tell you, this [very] night, before the rooster crows, you will deny [knowing] me three times.”


Then Peter remembered the words Jesus had said, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny [knowing] me three times.” And he went out and cried bitterly.


Just then Jesus perceived in Himself that [healing] power had gone out from Him so turned to the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothing?”


But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha; you are worried and bothered about [so] many things.


And Jesus said, “I tell you, Peter, you will deny [even] knowing me three times before the rooster crows today.”


But then Peter said, “Man, I do not know what you are talking about.” Just then, as he was speaking, the rooster crowed.


Then Peter went out and cried bitterly.


Now when the Lord saw her, He felt very sorry for her and said to her, “Do not cry.”


So, John called to him two of his disciples and sent them to the Lord to ask, “Are you the One who was to come, or should we look for someone else?”


Jesus answered him; “Will you [really] die for me? Truly, truly, I tell you, before the rooster crows, you will deny [knowing] me three times.”


But God exalted Him at His right side to be a Prince and Savior and to give the people of Israel [an opportunity] to repent [i.e., change their hearts and lives] and [receive] forgiveness of [their] sins [through Him].


So, you Gentiles by birth should remember what you once were. You are called “Uncircumcision” by those who are called “Circumcision” [i.e., the Jews], (which refers to a physical procedure performed by people).


So, remember where you have fallen from and repent [i.e., change your hearts and lives] and do the things you did at first [i.e., when you were first converted], or else I will come and remove your lamp stand from its place [i.e., I will not permit the congregation to survive], unless you repent.
