Addiction and bad habits can be so destructive. Think about it, addiction is clinging to something—a behavior, a substance, an activity, even a person—that's actually harming you. So many of us struggle with these things, feeling trapped by a vice or an addiction. Sometimes, we feel like it's because of our past.
But here's the truth: in God, we're free. Christ set us free from all of that and forgave our sins. If you keep dwelling on the past, those chains can really hold you back. Sometimes, these struggles can even stem from negative spiritual influences, finding a foothold and coming to light when we unknowingly open a door, giving the enemy a legal right to step in.
You have the power to let go of what's binding you. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any areas of bondage you need to address. Receive God's forgiveness and His healing. He's there for you.
I pray that we all find freedom from anything that's hurting us and holding us back. Just like it says in John 8:36, "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."
Husbands, love your wives just as Messiah also loved His community and gave Himself up for her
to make her holy, having cleansed her by immersion in the word.
“When a man takes a new wife, he is not to go out with the army or have any duty passed over to him. He is to be free at home for one year and make his wife happy.
Though a man might overpower one, two can stand against him. Moreover a threefold cord cannot be quickly broken.
But now these three remain— faith, hope, and love. And the greatest of these is love.
Let marriage be held in honor among all and the marriage bed kept undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.
Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
Husbands, love your wives and do not become harsh toward them.
Let the husband fulfill his obligation to his wife, and likewise also the wife to her husband.
The wife does not have the rights to her own body, but the husband. Likewise also the husband does not have the rights to his own body, but the wife.
“For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves in tender compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience—
bearing with one another and forgiving each other, if anyone has a grievance against another. Just as the Lord pardoned you, so also you must pardon others.
But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfect harmony.
Let the shalom of Messiah rule in your hearts—to this shalom you were surely called in one body. Also be thankful.
Let the word of Messiah dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another with all wisdom in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with gratitude in your hearts to God.
And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Yeshua, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
This is why a man leaves his father and his mother and clings to his wife; and they become one flesh.
But sexual immorality and any impurity or greed—don’t even let these be mentioned among you, as is proper for kedoshim.
Obscene, coarse, and stupid talk are also out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving.
Know for certain that no immoral, indecent, or greedy person—who is really an idol worshipper at heart—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Messiah and God.
with complete humility and gentleness, with patience, putting up with one another in love,
Instead, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all ways into Messiah, who is the Head.
wives to your own husbands as to the Lord.
For the husband is head of the wife, as Messiah also is head of His community—Himself the Savior of the body.
But as Messiah’s community is submitted to Messiah, so also the wives to their husbands in everything.
Husbands, love your wives just as Messiah also loved His community and gave Himself up for her
to make her holy, having cleansed her by immersion in the word.
Messiah did this so that He might present to Himself His glorious community—not having stain or wrinkle or any such thing, but in order that she might be holy and blameless.
In the same way, husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it—just as Messiah also does His community,
because we are members of His body.
“For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”
This mystery is great—but I am talking about Messiah and His community.
In any case, let each of you love his own wife as himself, and let the wife respect her husband.
Husbands, love your wives just as Messiah also loved His community and gave Himself up for her
For the husband is head of the wife, as Messiah also is head of His community—Himself the Savior of the body.
Love never fails— but where there are prophecies, they will pass away; where there are tongues, they will cease; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
But because of much immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.
Let kindness and truth never leave you— bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.
Then you will gain favor and a good name in the eyes of God and man.
Likewise, wives, be submitted to your own husbands so that—even if some do not obey the message—by the wives’ conduct, without a word they may be won over
as they observe your pure, reverent conduct.
Don’t let your beauty be external—braiding the hair and wearing gold jewelry or fine clothes.
Instead let it be in the hidden person of the heart, with the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.
For this is the way the holy women, who put their hope in God, used to beautify themselves long ago—being submitted to their own husbands
just as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. You have become her daughters by doing what is good and not fearing intimidation.
In the same way, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way. Though they are weaker partners, honor them as equal heirs of the grace of life. In this way, your prayers will not be hindered.
This is love—not that we have loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atonement for our sins.
Above all, keep your love for one another constant, for “love covers a multitude of sins.”
and in Him you have been filled to fullness. He is the head over every ruler and authority.
Therefore as you received Messiah Yeshua as Lord, so continue to walk in Him—
rooted and built up in Him and established in your faith just as you were taught, overflowing with thankfulness.
See that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men and the basic principles of the world rather than Messiah.
For all the fullness of Deity lives bodily in Him,
Then Adonai Elohim said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. Let Me make a well-matched helper for him.”
Live joyously with the wife whom you love all the days of your fleeting life that He has given you under the sun during all your fleeting days—for this is your portion in life and in your toil that you labor under the sun.
wanting to be teachers of Torah, even though they do not understand what they keep saying or what they so dogmatically assert.
If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels but have not love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not brag, it is not puffed up,
it does not behave inappropriately, it does not seek its own way, it is not provoked, it keeps no account of wrong,
it does not rejoice over injustice but rejoices in the truth;
it bears all things, it believes all things, it hopes all things, it endures all things.
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’
But I tell you that everyone who looks upon a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Set me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm. For love is as strong as death, jealousy as cruel as Sheol. Its flames are bolts of fire, the flame of Adonai.
Many waters cannot quench love, nor rivers wash it away. If one gave all the wealth of his house for love, it would be utterly despised.
God created humankind in His image, in the image of God He created him, male and female He created them.
God blessed them and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, fill the land, and conquer it. Rule over the fish of the sea, the flying creatures of the sky, and over every animal that crawls on the land.”
An accomplished woman who can find? Her value is far beyond rubies.
Her husband’s heart trusts in her, and he lacks nothing valuable.
She brings him good and not harm all the days of her life.
with complete humility and gentleness, with patience, putting up with one another in love,
making every effort to keep the unity of the Ruach in the bond of shalom.
But because of much immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.
Let the husband fulfill his obligation to his wife, and likewise also the wife to her husband.
The wife does not have the rights to her own body, but the husband. Likewise also the husband does not have the rights to his own body, but the wife.
Do not deprive one another—except by mutual consent for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again, so that satan doesn’t tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
then make my joy complete by being of the same mind, having the same love, united in spirit, with one purpose.
Do nothing out of selfishness or conceit, but with humility consider others as more important than yourselves,
looking out not only for your own interests but also for the interests of others.
Be tenderly devoted to one another in brotherly love; outdo one another in giving honor.
Brothers and sisters, you were called to freedom—only do not let your freedom become an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
Better a meal of vegetables where there is love, than a fattened ox where there is hatred.
Therefore, I want the younger widows to get married, have children, manage a household, and give no opportunity to the enemy for slander.
A Song of Ascents. Of Solomon. Unless Adonai builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless Adonai watches over the city, the watchman stands guard in vain.
“Haven’t you read?” He answered. “He who created them from the beginning ‘made them male and female’
and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.’
So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate.”
But to the married I command—not I, but the Lord—a wife is not to be separated from her husband
(but if she gets separated, let her remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband), and the husband is not to divorce his wife.
“It was said, ‘Whoever sends his wife away, let him give her a certificate of divorce.’
But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery; and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.
But if anyone does not provide for his own, especially those in his own house, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
But the fruit of the Ruach is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness, and self-control—against such things there is no law.
May your mouth be like the best wine, going down smoothly for my beloved, causing the lips of sleepers to speak.
You have captivated my heart, my sister, my bride— you captivated me with one of your eyes, with one jewel from your necklace.
Also keep Your servant from willful sins. May they not have dominion over me. Then I will be blameless, free from great transgression.
