Make me as happy as you did when you saved me; make me want to obey!

I trust you to save me, Lord God, and I won't be afraid. My power and my strength come from you, and you have saved me.”

With great joy, you people will get water from the well of victory.

You have never seen Jesus, and you don't see him now. But still you love him and have faith in him, and no words can tell how glad and happy

you are to be saved. This is why you have faith.

I will celebrate and be joyful because you, Lord, have saved me.

I pray that God, who gives hope, will bless you with complete happiness and peace because of your faith. And may the power of the Holy Spirit fill you with hope.

I celebrate and shout because of my Lord God. His saving power and justice are the very clothes I wear. They are more beautiful than the jewelry worn by a bride or groom.

Always be glad because of the Lord! I will say it again: Be glad.

By faith we have been made acceptable to God. And now, thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ, we have peace with God.

Even when we were God's enemies, he made peace with us, because his Son died for us. Yet something even greater than friendship is ours. Now that we are at peace with God, we will be saved by the life of his Son.

And in addition to everything else, we are happy because God sent our Lord Jesus Christ to make peace with us.

Adam sinned, and that sin brought death into the world. Now everyone has sinned, and so everyone must die.

Sin was in the world before the Law came. But no record of sin was kept, because there was no Law.

Yet death still had power over all who lived from the time of Adam to the time of Moses. This happened, though not everyone disobeyed a direct command from God, as Adam did. In some ways Adam is like Christ who came later.

But the gift of God's undeserved grace was very different from Adam's sin. That one sin brought death to many others. Yet in an even greater way, Jesus Christ alone brought God's gift of undeserved grace to many people.

There is a lot of difference between Adam's sin and God's gift. That one sin led to punishment. But God's gift made it possible for us to be acceptable to him, even though we have sinned many times.

Death ruled like a king because Adam had sinned. But that cannot compare with what Jesus Christ has done. God has treated us with undeserved grace, and he has accepted us because of Jesus. And so we will live and rule like kings.

Everyone was going to be punished because Adam sinned. But because of the good thing that Christ has done, God accepts us and gives us the gift of life.

Adam disobeyed God and caused many others to be sinners. But Jesus obeyed him and will make many people acceptable to God.

Christ has also introduced us to God's gift of undeserved grace on which we now take our stand. So we are happy, as we look forward to sharing in the glory of God.

Our Lord, your mighty power makes the king glad, and he celebrates victories that you have given him.

I have told you this to make you as completely happy as I am.

but I will still celebrate because the Lord God is my Savior.

But don't be happy because evil spirits obey you. Be happy that your names are written in heaven!

and I will sing about you at the gate to Zion. I will be happy there because you rescued me.

At that time, people will say, “The Lord has saved us! Let's celebrate. We waited and hoped— now our God is here.”

My power and my strength come from the Lord, and he has saved me.

From the tents of God's people come shouts of victory: “The Lord is powerful!

I trust your love, and I feel like celebrating because you rescued me.

Everyone on this earth, sing praises to the Lord. Day after day announce, “The Lord has saved us!”

Tell every nation on earth, “The Lord is wonderful and does marvelous things!

Tell the heavens and the earth to start singing! Tell the mountains and every tree in the forest to join in the song! The Lord has rescued his people; now they will worship him.

Sin pays off with death. But God's gift is eternal life given by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Always be joyful

and never stop praying.

Whatever happens, keep thanking God because of Jesus Christ. This is what God wants you to do.

We celebrated with laughter and joyful songs. In foreign nations it was said, “The Lord has worked miracles for his people.”

And so we celebrated because the Lord had indeed worked miracles for us.

And so your good people should celebrate and shout.

God's Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful,

Finally, my dear friends, be glad that you belong to the Lord. It doesn't bother me to write the same things to you that I have written before. In fact, it is for your own good.

You have not asked for anything in this way before, but now you must ask in my name. Then it will be given to you, so you will be completely happy.

Nehemiah told the people, “Enjoy your good food and wine and share some with those who didn't have anything to bring. Don't be sad! This is a special day for the Lord, and he will make you happy and strong.”

So, when you accepted the message, you followed our example and the example of the Lord. You suffered, but the Holy Spirit made you glad.

Let your worshipers celebrate and be glad because of you. They love your saving power, so let them always say, “God is wonderful!”

But the Lord's followers in Antioch were very happy and were filled with the Holy Spirit.

The people the Lord has rescued will come back singing as they enter Zion. Happiness will be a crown everyone will always wear. They will celebrate and shout because all sorrows and worries will be gone far away.

Be joyful and sing as you come in to worship the Lord!

You have turned my sorrow into joyful dancing. No longer am I sad and wearing sackcloth.

I thank you from my heart, and I will never stop singing your praises, my Lord and my God.

Victory will be like robes for the priests, and its faithful people will celebrate and shout.

Give honor and praise to the Lord, whose power and beauty fill his holy temple.”

You are the Lord's people. Obey him and celebrate! He deserves your praise.

May the Lord bless his people with peace and happiness and let them celebrate.

Let your hope make you glad. Be patient in time of trouble and never stop praying.

Let all who run to you for protection always sing joyful songs. Provide shelter for those who truly love you and let them rejoice.

They will always be my most prized possession and my source of joy.

Tell the heavens and the earth to celebrate and sing; command every mountain to join in the song. The Lord's people have suffered, but he has shown mercy and given them comfort.

Be happy and excited! You will have a great reward in heaven. People did these same things to the prophets who lived long ago.

But let your people be happy and celebrate because of you.

You were saved by faith in God, who treats us much better than we deserve. This is God's gift to you, and not anything you have done on your own.

It isn't something you have earned, so there is nothing you can brag about.

The life-giving fountain belongs to you, and your light gives light to each of us.

This hope is like a firm and steady anchor for our souls. In fact, hope reaches behind the curtain and into the most holy place.

I am sure that nothing can separate us from God's love—not life or death, not angels or spirits, not the present or the future,

and not powers above or powers below. Nothing in all creation can separate us from God's love for us in Christ Jesus our Lord!

You are kind, Lord, so good and merciful.

You protect ordinary people, and when I was helpless, you saved me

and treated me so kindly that I don't need to worry anymore.

A thief comes only to rob, kill, and destroy. I came so everyone would have life, and have it fully.

God has also said he gave us eternal life and this life comes to us from his Son.

And so, if we have God's Son, we have this life. But if we don't have the Son, we don't have this life.

Anyone who belongs to Christ is a new person. The past is forgotten, and everything is new.

The Lord gives perfect peace to those whose faith is firm.

So always trust the Lord because he is forever our mighty rock.

With all my heart I thank you. I praise you, Lord God.

Your love for me is so great that you protected me from death and the grave.

and you gave me a new song, a song of praise to you. Many will see this, and they will honor and trust you, the Lord God.

If the Son gives you freedom, you are free!

Honor God by accepting each other, as Christ has accepted you.

How far has the Lord taken our sins from us? Farther than the distance from east to west!

Each one of you is part of the body of Christ, and you were chosen to live together in peace. So let the peace that comes from Christ control your thoughts. And be grateful.

My friends, the blood of Jesus gives us courage to enter the most holy place

If there were worshipers who already have their sins washed away and their consciences made clear, there would not be any need to go on offering sacrifices.

by a new way that leads to life! And this way takes us through the curtain that is Christ himself.

I will always praise the Lord.

Young lions may go hungry or even starve, but if you trust the Lord, you will never miss out on anything good.

Come, my children, listen as I teach you to respect the Lord.

Do you want to live and enjoy a long life?

Then don't say cruel things and don't tell lies.

Do good instead of evil and try to live at peace.

If you obey the Lord, he will watch over you and answer your prayers.

But God despises evil people, and he will wipe them all from the earth, till they are forgotten.

When his people pray for help, he listens and rescues them from their troubles.

The Lord is there to rescue all who are discouraged and have given up hope.

The Lord's people may suffer a lot, but he will always bring them safely through.

With all my heart, I will praise the Lord. Let all who are helpless, listen and be glad.

Not one of their bones will ever be broken.

Wicked people are killed by their own evil deeds, and if you hate God's people you will be punished.

The Lord saves the lives of his servants. Run to him for protection, and you won't be punished.

Honor the Lord with me! Celebrate his great name.

You will overpower the strongest lions and the most deadly snakes.

The Lord says, “If you love me and truly know who I am, I will rescue you and keep you safe.

When you are in trouble, call out to me. I will answer and be there to protect and honor you.

You will live a long life and see my saving power.”

Then you will say to the Lord, “You are my fortress, my place of safety; you are my God, and I trust you.”

Eternal life is to know you, the only true God, and to know Jesus Christ, the one you sent.

But thank God for letting our Lord Jesus Christ give us the victory!

We never give up. Our bodies are gradually dying, but we ourselves are being made stronger each day.

These little troubles are getting us ready for an eternal glory that will make all our troubles seem like nothing.

Things that are seen don't last forever, but things that are not seen are eternal. This is why we keep our minds on the things that cannot be seen.

Obeying your instructions brings as much happiness as being rich.

He is forever able to save the people he leads to God, because he always lives to speak to God for them.

God has given us his Spirit. This is how we know we are one with him, just as he is one with us.

What must I give you, Lord, for being so good to me?

I will pour out an offering of wine to you, and I will pray in your name because you have saved me.

Christ also brought you the truth, which is the good news about how you can be saved. You put your faith in Christ and were given the promised Holy Spirit to show you belong to God.

The Spirit also makes us sure we will be given what God has stored up for his people. Then we will be set free, and God will be honored and praised.

If you obey and do right, a light will show you the way and fill you with happiness.

You are the Lord's people! So celebrate and praise the only God.

When you are set free, you will celebrate and travel home in peace. Mountains and hills will sing as you pass by, and trees will clap.

Meet me in court! State your case and prove that you are right.

That's why I don't allow your priests to serve me; I let Israel be destroyed and your people disgraced.

I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, the God who saves you. I gave up Egypt, Ethiopia, and the region of Seba in exchange for you.

But the angel said, “Don't be afraid! I have good news for you, which will make everyone happy.

This very day in King David's hometown a Savior was born for you. He is Christ the Lord.

I am sure what we are suffering now cannot compare with the glory that will be shown to us.

The one who chose you can be trusted, and he will do this.

Tell everyone on this earth to sing happy songs in praise of the Lord.

Make music for him on harps. Play beautiful melodies!

We must hold tightly to the hope we say is ours. After all, we can trust the one who made the agreement with us.

All who call out to the Lord will be saved.

Yet some people accepted him and put their faith in him. So he gave them the right to be the children of God.

They were not God's children by nature or because of any human desires. God himself was the one who made them his children.

When I asked for your help, you answered my prayer and gave me courage.

The Lord isn't slow about keeping his promises, as some people think he is. In fact, God is patient, because he wants everyone to turn from sin and no one to be lost.

They will be so kind and merciful and good, that they will be a light in the dark for others who do the right thing.

Life will go well for those who freely lend and are honest in business.

They won't ever be troubled, and the kind things they do will never be forgotten.

Bad news won't bother them; they have decided to trust the Lord.

God saved us and chose us to be his holy people. We did nothing to deserve this, but God planned it because he is so kind. Even before time began God planned for Christ Jesus to show kindness to us.

God is the one who began this good work in you, and I am certain that he won't stop before it is complete on the day that Christ Jesus returns.

Don't let sin keep ruling your lives. You are ruled by God's undeserved grace and not by the Law.

Sing joyful songs to the Lord! Praise the mighty rock where we are safe.

Then God got tired of them and said, “You never show good sense, and you don't understand what I want you to do.”

In his anger, God told them, “You people will never enter my place of rest.”

Come to worship him with thankful hearts and songs of praise.

But if we confess our sins to God, he can always be trusted to forgive us and take our sins away.

We depend on you, Lord, to help and protect us.

You make our hearts glad because we trust you, the only God.

Be kind and bless us! We depend on you.

You have faith in God, whose power will protect you until the last day. Then he will save you, just as he has always planned to do.

Our God, you are the one who rides on the clouds, and we praise you. Your name is the Lord, and we celebrate as we worship you.

Our God, from your sacred home you take care of orphans and protect widows.

You find families for those who are lonely. You set prisoners free and let them prosper, but all who rebel will live in a scorching desert.

that will never disappoint us. All of this happens because God has given us the Holy Spirit, who fills our hearts with his love.

Think how much the Father loves us. He loves us so much that he lets us be called his children, as we truly are. But since the people of this world did not know who Christ is, they don't know who we are.

You can tell God's children from the devil's children, because those who belong to the devil refuse to do right or to love each other.

From the beginning you were told we must love each other.

Don't be like Cain, who belonged to the devil and murdered his own brother. Why did he murder him? He did it because his brother was good, and he was evil.

My friends, don't be surprised if the people of this world hate you.

Our love for each other proves we have gone from death to life. But if you don't love each other, you are still under the power of death.

If you hate each other, you are murderers, and we know murderers do not have eternal life.

We know what love is because Jesus gave his life for us. This is why we must give our lives for each other.

If we have all we need and see one of our own people in need, we must have pity on that person, or else we cannot say we love God.

Children, you show love for others by truly helping them, and not merely by talking about it.

When we love others, we know we belong to the truth, and we feel at ease in the presence of God.

My dear friends, we are already God's children, though what we will be hasn't yet been seen. But we do know when Christ returns, we will be like him, because we will see him as he truly is.

Our Lord, I will sing of your love forever. Everyone yet to be born will hear me praise your faithfulness.

Only Jesus has the power to save! His name is the only one in all the world that can save anyone.

But God showed how much he loved us by having Christ die for us, even though we were sinful.

God saved us from the threat of death, and we are sure that he will do it again and again.

With all my heart, I am waiting, Lord, for you! I trust your promises.

Celebrate and worship his holy name with all your heart.

My dear friends, you always obeyed when I was with you. Now that I am away, you should obey even more. So work with fear and trembling to discover what it really means to be saved.

God is working in you to make you willing and able to obey him.

And the Scriptures were written to teach and encourage us by giving us hope.

A child has been born for us. We have been given a son who will be our ruler. His names will be Wonderful Advisor and Mighty God, Eternal Father and Prince of Peace.

His power will never end; peace will last forever. He will rule David's kingdom and make it grow strong. He will always rule with honesty and justice. The Lord All-Powerful will make certain that all of this is done.
