I want to tell you about a joy that can chase away every sadness and fill your heart to overflowing. It's not a fleeting feeling based on how your day is going, but something you build day by day in the presence of the Holy Spirit.
It's your relationship with the Holy Spirit that will lead you to truly know God. And once you know Him, you'll worship Him in a way that pours out of you like a river of praise, just thinking about how amazing your Savior is. You'll understand His goodness in your life, and laughter will just bubble up.
That's when you'll realize that the happiness this world offers is based on things that fade away, but the joy Jesus puts in your soul lasts forever. God wants you to find refuge in Him, and even in the midst of tears, to find a song of worship rising within you.
When you come to Him, surrendering at His feet, you'll be filled and comforted. Even when you're going through tough times, trials, and struggles, the joy of the Lord will be your strength, and you'll be able to keep going, fulfilling the purpose God has for you.
By God’s grace, His joy will uphold you and give you what you need to face anything. As Psalm 28:7 (NIV) says, "The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him."
The lover of money never has enough money; the lover of luxury never has enough income. This too is pointless.
Without having seen him, you love him. Without seeing him now, but trusting in him, you continue to be full of joy that is glorious beyond words.
And you are receiving what your trust is aiming at, namely, your deliverance.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
humility, self control. Nothing in the Torah stands against such things.
Then, if it is God’s will, I will come to you with joy and have a time of rest among you.
When things are going well, enjoy yourself; but when things are going badly, consider that God made the one alongside the other, so that people would learn nothing of their futures.
as having reason to be sad, yet always filled with joy; as poor, yet making many people rich; as having nothing, yet having everything!
Nevertheless, don’t be glad that the spirits submit to you; be glad that your names have been recorded in heaven.”
I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who turns to God from his sins than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need to repent.
let the Word of the Messiah, in all its richness, live in you, as you teach and counsel each other in all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude to God in your hearts.
Shout for joy to Adonai, all the earth! Break forth, sing for joy, sing praises!
Sing praises to Adonai with the lyre, with the lyre and melodious music!
With trumpets and the sound of the shofar, shout for joy before the king, Adonai!
Then I will go to the altar of God, to God, my joy and delight; I will praise you on the lyre, God, my God.
For the leader. On the gittit. A psalm of the sons of Korach:
God, see our shield [the king]; look at the face of your anointed.
Better a day in your courtyards than a thousand [days elsewhere]. Better just standing at the door of my God’s house than living in the tents of the wicked.
For Adonai, God, is a sun and a shield; Adonai bestows favor and honor; he will not withhold anything good from those whose lives are pure.
Adonai-Tzva’ot, how happy is anyone who trusts in you!
How deeply loved are your dwelling-places, Adonai-Tzva’ot!
You make me know the path of life; in your presence is unbounded joy, in your right hand eternal delight.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
May God, the source of hope, fill you completely with joy and shalom as you continue trusting, so that by the power of the Ruach HaKodesh you may overflow with hope.
God, declare them guilty! Let them fall through their own intrigues, For their many crimes, throw them down; since they have rebelled against you.
I am so joyful in Adonai! My soul rejoices in my God, for he has clothed me in salvation, dressed me with a robe of triumph, like a bridegroom wearing a festive turban, like a bride adorned with her jewels.
The righteous will see and be awestruck; they will jeer at him, saying,
“This fellow would not make God his refuge, but trusted in his own great wealth, relying on his evil plots.”
looking away to the Initiator and Completer of that trusting, Yeshua — who, in exchange for obtaining the joy set before him, endured execution on a stake as a criminal, scorning the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
By David, when he pretended to be insane before Avimelekh, who then drove him away; so he left:
A psalm of thanksgiving: Shout for joy to Adonai, all the earth!
Serve Adonai with gladness. Enter his presence with joyful songs.
for the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, shalom and joy in the Ruach HaKodesh.
Drive them away as smoke is driven away; like wax melting in the presence of a fire, let the wicked perish in the presence of God.
Rejoice, be glad, because your reward in heaven is great — they persecuted the prophets before you in the same way.
Yes, you will go out with joy, you will be led forth in peace. As you come, the mountains and hills will burst out into song, and all the trees in the countryside will clap their hands.
So let us not grow weary of doing what is good; for if we don’t give up, we will in due time reap the harvest.
You prepare a table for me, even as my enemies watch; you anoint my head with oil from an overflowing cup.
The eyes of all are looking to you; you give them their food at the right time.
You open your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing.
Regard it all as joy, my brothers, when you face various kinds of temptations;
for a person’s anger does not accomplish God’s righteousness!
So rid yourselves of all vulgarity and obvious evil, and receive meekly the Word implanted in you that can save your lives.
Don’t deceive yourselves by only hearing what the Word says, but do it!
For whoever hears the Word but doesn’t do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror,
who looks at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.
But if a person looks closely into the perfect Torah, which gives freedom, and continues, becoming not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work it requires, then he will be blessed in what he does.
Anyone who thinks he is religiously observant but does not control his tongue is deceiving himself, and his observance counts for nothing.
The religious observance that God the Father considers pure and faultless is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being contaminated by the world.
for you know that the testing of your trust produces perseverance.
His master said to him, ‘Excellent! You are a good and trustworthy servant. You have been faithful with a small amount, so I will put you in charge of a large amount. Come and join in your master’s happiness!’
My soul, why are you so downcast? Why are you groaning inside me? Hope in God, since I will praise him again for being my Savior and God.
Halleluyah! I will wholeheartedly give thanks to Adonai in the council of the upright and in the assembly.
Also through him and on the ground of our trust, we have gained access to this grace in which we stand; so let us boast about the hope of experiencing God’s glory.
yes, provide for those in Tziyon who mourn, giving them garlands instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, a cloak of praise instead of a heavy spirit, so that they will be called oaks of righteousness planted by Adonai, in which he takes pride.
How I wish Isra’el’s salvation would come out of Tziyon! When Adonai restores his people’s fortunes, Ya‘akov will rejoice, Isra’el will be glad!
In conclusion, my brothers: rejoice in union with the Lord. It is no trouble for me to repeat what I have written you before, and for you it will be a safeguard:
Give thanks to Adonai; for he is good, for his grace continues forever.
The nations all surrounded me; in the name of Adonai I cut them down.
They surrounded me on every side in the name of Adonai I cut them down.
They surrounded me like bees but were extinguished [as quickly] as a fire in thorns; in the name of Adonai I cut them down.
You pushed me hard to make me fall, but Adonai helped me.
Yah is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.
The sound of rejoicing and victory is heard in the tents of the righteous: “Adonai’s right hand struck powerfully!
Adonai’s right hand is raised in triumph! Adonai’s right hand struck powerfully!”
I will not die; no, I will live and proclaim the great deeds of Yah!
Yah disciplined me severely, but did not hand me over to death.
Open the gates of righteousness for me; I will enter them and thank Yah.
Now let Isra’el say, “His grace continues forever.”
Those ransomed by Adonai will return and come with singing to Tziyon, on their heads will be everlasting joy. They will acquire gladness and joy, while sorrow and sighing will flee.
The people were filled with joy, because they had given willingly — wholeheartedly they had given willingly to Adonai; and David the king too was completely filled with joy,
I will meditate on the glorious splendor of your majesty and on the story of your wonders.
The sound of rejoicing and victory is heard in the tents of the righteous: “Adonai’s right hand struck powerfully!
On that day they will say, “See! This is our God! We waited for him to save us. This is Adonai ; we put our hope in him. We are full of joy, so glad he saved us!”
The holy people in the land are the ones who are worthy of honor; all my pleasure is in them.
Nevertheless, I am always with you; you hold my right hand.
You will guide me with your advice; and afterwards, you will receive me with honor.
A song of ascents: When Adonai restored Tziyon’s fortunes, we thought we were dreaming.
Our mouths were full of laughter, and our tongues shouted for joy. Among the nations it was said, “Adonai has done great things for them!”
Through him, therefore, let us offer God a sacrifice of praise continually. For this is the natural product of lips that acknowledge his name.
David spoke to the chief of the L’vi’im to appoint their kinsmen to be singers making use of musical instruments — lutes, lyres and cymbals — to play loudly and raise sounds of joy.
No, I keep myself calm and quiet, like a little child on its mother’s lap — I keep myself like a little child.
What the righteous hope for will end in joy; what the wicked expect will come to nothing.
The Torah of Adonai is perfect, restoring the inner person. The instruction of Adonai is sure, making wise the thoughtless.
“The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field. A man found it, hid it again, then in great joy went and sold everything he owned, and bought that field.
Adonai! Our Lord! How glorious is your name throughout the earth! The fame of your majesty spreads even above the heavens!
but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Yeshua the Messiah!
I thank you because I am awesomely made, wonderfully; your works are wonders — I know this very well.
“See! God is my salvation. I am confident and unafraid; for Yah Adonai is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation!”
From my being hemmed in I called on Yah; he answered and gave me more room.
With Adonai on my side, I fear nothing — what can human beings do to me?
Yes, I am convinced of this; so I know I will stay on with you in order to help you progress in the faith and have joy in it.
May lying lips be struck dumb, that speak insolently against the righteous with such pride and contempt.
Then he said to them, “Go, eat rich food, drink sweet drinks, and send portions to those who can’t provide for themselves; for today is consecrated to our Lord. Don’t be sad, because the joy of Adonai is your strength.”
God, declare them guilty! Let them fall through their own intrigues, For their many crimes, throw them down; since they have rebelled against you.
But let all who take refuge in you rejoice, let them forever shout for joy! Shelter them; and they will be glad, those who love your name.
“See! God is my salvation. I am confident and unafraid; for Yah Adonai is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation!”
Then you will joyfully draw water from the springs of salvation.
Those ransomed by Adonai will return and come with singing to Tziyon; on their heads will be everlasting joy. They will acquire gladness and joy, while sorrow and sighing will flee.
Till now you haven’t asked for anything in my name. Keep asking, and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete.
