I was a father to the poor, and I searched out the cause of him whom I did not know.


if the men of my tent have not said, ‘Who is there that has not been filled with his meat?’


if I have concealed my transgressions from men, by hiding my iniquity in my bosom,


Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?


for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,


And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.’


Contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality.


and she must be well attested for her good deeds, as one who has brought up children, shown hospitality, washed the feet of the saints, relieved the afflicted, and devoted herself to doing good in every way.


Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.


Practice hospitality ungrudgingly to one another.
