4 These I remember, and pour out my being within me. For I used to pass along with the throng; I went with them to the House of Elohim, With the voice of joy and praise, A multitude celebrating a festival!

until I come. Then I shall take you away to a land like your own land, a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of olive-trees and honey, and live, and not die. But do not listen to Ḥizqiyahu, when he misleads you, saying, “יהוה shall deliver us.”


And on the twenty-third day of the seventh new moon he sent the people away to their tents, rejoicing and glad of heart for the goodness that יהוה had done for Dawiḏ, and for Shelomoh, and for His people Yisra’ĕl.


“Oh, that I were as in months past, as in the days when Eloah protected me;


Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him; bless His Name.


Because of Your displeasure and Your wrath; For You have lifted me up And thrown me down.


Why should the nations say, “Where now is their Elohim?”


I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the House of יהוה.”


For the sake of my brothers and companions, I say, “Peace be within you.”


We took sweet counsel together, We walked to the House of Elohim in the throng.


Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; Elohim is a refuge for us. Selah.


Why should the nations say, “Where is their Elohim?” Let the vengeance of the outpoured blood of Your servants Be known among the nations, Before our eyes.


You have made us a strife to our neighbours, And our enemies laugh among themselves.


Let the song be to you as in a night set apart for a festival, and gladness of heart as he who is going with a flute, to come into the mountain of יהוה, to the Rock of Yisra’ĕl.


“Arise, cry out in the night, At the beginning of the watches, Pour out your heart like water Before the face of יהוה. Lift your hands toward Him For the life of your young children, Who languish from hunger At the head of every street.


How dim the gold has become, The fine gold changed! The stones of the set-apart place Are scattered at the head of every street.


“And the prince is to be in their midst, entering when they enter, and going out when they go out.


Let the priests, servants of יהוה, weep between the porch and the slaughter-place. And let them say, “Spare Your people, O יהוה, and do not give Your inheritance to reproach, for the nations to rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their Elohim?’ ”


See, on the mountains the feet of him who brings good news, who proclaims peace! O Yehuḏah, celebrate your festivals, perform your vows. For Beliya‛al shall no more pass through you. He has been cut off completely.


“But Aḇraham said, ‘Son, remember that in your life you received your good, and likewise El‛azar the evil, but now he is comforted and you are suffering.


“And you shall rejoice before יהוה your Elohim, you and your son and your daughter, and your male servant and your female servant, and the Lĕwite who is within your gates, and the stranger and the fatherless and the widow who are in your midst, at the place where יהוה your Elohim chooses to make His Name dwell.


“I went out filled, and יהוה has brought me back empty. Why do you call me Na‛omi, since יהוה has witnessed against me, and the Almighty has done evil to me?”
