23 And they brought Uriyahu from Mitsrayim and brought him to Yehoyaqim the sovereign, who struck him with the sword and threw his dead body into the burial-sites of the common people.

“In vain have I stricken your children – they received no instruction. Your sword has devoured your prophets like a destroying lion.


“But your eyes and your heart are only upon your own greedy gain, and on shedding innocent blood, and on oppression and on doing violence.”


“He shall be buried – the burial-place of a donkey – dragged and thrown outside the gates of Yerushalayim.


“But know for certain that if you put me to death, you are bringing innocent blood on yourselves, and on this city, and on its inhabitants. For truly יהוה has sent me to you to speak all these words in your hearing.”


Therefore thus said יהוה concerning Yehoyaqim sovereign of Yehuḏah, “He shall have no one to sit on the throne of Dawiḏ, and his dead body is to be thrown out, to the heat of the day and the frost of the night.

And when they have ended their witness, the beast coming up out of the pit of the deep shall fight against them, and overcome them, and kill them,
