7 And יהוה said, “I have indeed seen the oppression of My people who are in Mitsrayim, and have heard their cry because of their slave-drivers, for I know their sorrows.

“I am going down now to see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry against it that has come to Me, and if not, I know.

And Lĕ’ah conceived and bore a son, and she called his name Re’uḇĕn, for she said, “For יהוה has looked on my affliction, because now my husband is going to love me.”


“And He said, ‘Lift your eyes now and see, all the rams which leap on the flocks are streaked, speckled, and mottled, for I have seen all that Laḇan is doing to you.


“Unless the Elohim of my father, the Elohim of Aḇraham and the Fear of Yitsḥaq, had been with me, you would now have sent me away empty-handed. Elohim has seen my affliction and the labour of my hands, and rendered judgment last night.”


“For You save the humble people, But Your eyes are on the haughty to bring them low.


Then Yeho’aḥaz sought the face of יהוה. And יהוה listened to him, for He saw the oppression of Yisra’ĕl, because the sovereign of Aram oppressed them.


“Return and say to Ḥizqiyahu the leader of My people, ‘Thus said יהוה, the Elohim of Dawiḏ your father, “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears. See, I am going to heal you. On the third day go up to the House of יהוה.


and saw the affliction of our fathers in Mitsrayim, and heard their cry by the Sea of Reeds,


But He would look on their distress, When He heard their cry,


The Words of יהוה are clean Words, Silver tried in a furnace of earth, Refined seven times.


When my spirit grew faint within me, Then You know my path. In the way in which I walk They have hidden a trap for me.


He does the desire of those who fear Him; And He hears their cry and saves them.


For He has not despised Nor hated the affliction of the afflicted; Nor has He hidden His face from Him; But when He cried to Him, He heard.


Dalet I sought יהוה, and He answered me, And delivered me from all my fears.


Zayin This poor one cried out and יהוה heard him, And saved him out of all his distresses.


This You have seen, O יהוה; Do not be silent. O יהוה, do not be far from me.


So that I declare all Your praise In the gates of the daughter of Tsiyon. I rejoice in Your deliverance.


So they set slave-masters over them to afflict them with their burdens, and they built for Pharaoh supply cities, Pithom and Ra‛amses.


Then a new sovereign arose over Mitsrayim, who did not know Yosĕph,


“If you do afflict them at all – if they cry out to Me at all, I shall certainly hear their cry,


And now, please, if I have found favour in Your eyes, please show me Your way, and let me know You, so that I find favour in Your eyes. And consider that this nation is Your people.


And the slave-drivers of the people and their foremen went out and spoke to the people, saying, “Thus said Pharaoh, ‘I do not give you straw.


And the same day Pharaoh commanded the slave-drivers of the people and their foremen, saying,


In all their distress He was distressed, and the Messenger of His Presence saved them. In His love and in His compassion He redeemed them, and He lifted them up and carried them all the days of old.


And we cried out to יהוה, and He heard our voice and sent the Messenger and brought us up out of Mitsrayim. And see, we are in Qaḏĕsh, a city on the edge of your border.


“I have certainly seen the evil treatment of my people who are in Mitsrayim, and I have heard their groaning and have come down to deliver them. And now come, let Me send you to Mitsrayim.” ’


For we do not have a High Priest unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who was tried in all respects as we are, apart from sin.


“At this time tomorrow I shall send you a man from the land of Binyamin, and you shall anoint him leader over My people Yisra’ĕl, and he shall save My people from the hand of the Philistines. For I have seen My people, because their cry has come to me.”
