In the beginning Elohim created the heavens and the earth.


And Elohim said, “Let lights come to be in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and appointed times, and for days and years,


So they made their father drink wine that night as well. And the younger arose and lay with him, and he was not aware of it when she lay down or when she arose.


And יהוה visited Sarah as He had said, and יהוה did for Sarah as He had spoken.


“For is it true: Elohim dwells with men on the earth! See, the heavens and the heavens of the heavens are unable to contain You, how much less this House which I have built!


how much less man, a maggot, and a son of man, a worm?”


What is man, that You should make him great, that You should set Your heart on him,


Remember me, O יהוה, in the acceptance of Your people; Visit me with Your deliverance,


To Him who by wisdom made the heavens, For His loving-commitment is everlasting;


The moon and stars to rule by night, For His loving-commitment is everlasting.


יהוה, what is man, that You should know him? Son of man, that You should think of him?


Do not put your trust in princes, In a son of man, in whom is no deliverance.


Day to day pours forth speech, And night to night reveals knowledge.


Till when, O you sons of men, Would you turn my esteem to shame, Would you love emptiness, seek falsehood? Selah.


Let Your hand be upon the One at Your right hand, Upon the Son of Aḏam whom You made strong for Yourself,


For all the mighty ones of the peoples are matters of naught, But יהוה made the heavens.


And the people believed. And they heard that יהוה had visited the children of Yisra’ĕl and that He had looked on their affliction, and they bowed their heads and did obeisance.


All nations before Him are as a non-entity, and they are reckoned by Him as less than a speck, and emptiness.


“I, I am He who comforts you. Who are you that you should be afraid of man that dies, and of the son of man who is made like grass?


Then He said to me, “Have you seen this, O son of man? You are to see still greater abominations than these.”


And יהושע said to him, “The foxes have holes and the birds of the heaven nests, but the Son of Aḏam has nowhere to lay His head.”


“Blessed be יהוה Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, for He did look upon and worked redemption for His people,


“and dash you to the ground, and your children within you. And they shall not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation.


having your behaviour among the nations good so that when they speak against you as evil-doers, let them, by observing your good works, esteem Elohim in a day of visitation.
