And as his allowance, a continual allowance was given to him from the sovereign, a quota for each day, all the days of his life.


I have not strayed from the command of His lips. I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my own law.


Remove from me the way of falsehood, And favour me with Your Torah.

A righteous one hates a lying word, But a wrong man is loathsome and comes to shame.


Gaining treasures by a lying tongue Is a fleeting vapour, heading for death.


He who sows unrighteousness reaps trouble, And the rod of his wrath perishes.


Do you set your eyes on that which is not? For riches certainly make themselves wings; They fly away like an eagle to the heavens.


Two matters I have asked of You – Deny them not to me before I die:


“Futility! Futility!” says Qoheleth. “Futility, futility, all is futile!”


Woe to those who draw crookedness with cords of falsehood, and sin as with wagon ropes,


No one calls for righteousness, and no one pleads for truth. They trust in emptiness and speak worthlessness; they conceive trouble and bring forth wickedness.
