At that time יהושע responding, said, “I thank You, Father, Master of the heavens and earth, because You have hidden these matters from clever and learned ones and have revealed them to babes.


and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become as little children, you shall by no means enter into the reign of the heavens.


And having laid hands on them He went from there.


Blessed are those persecuted for righteousness’ sake, because theirs is the reign of the heavens.


“Blessed are the poor in spirit, because theirs is the reign of the heavens.


And when יהושע saw it, He was much displeased and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them, for of such is the reign of Elohim.


Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the reign of Elohim as a little child, shall certainly not enter into it.


Brothers, do not be children in your thinking, but in evil be babes, and in your thinking be perfect.


“And He said to me, ‘See, you are conceiving and bearing a son. And now, drink no wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean food, for the youth is a Nazirite to Elohim from the womb to the day of his death.’ ”


And she made a vow and said, “O יהוה of hosts, if You would indeed look on the affliction of your female servant and remember me, and not forget your female servant, but shall give your female servant a male child, then I shall give him to יהוה all the days of his life, and let no razor come upon his head.”


But Ḥannah did not go up, for she said to her husband, “When the child is weaned, then I shall take him. And he shall appear before יהוה and remain forever there.”


And when she had weaned him, she took him up with her, with three bulls, and one ĕphah of flour, and a skin of wine, and brought him to the House of יהוה in Shiloh. And the child was young.


But Shemu’ĕl was attending before יהוה – a youth, wearing a linen shoulder garment.
