They have loathed me, they have kept far from me, and did not refrain from spitting in my face.


Show favour to us, O יהוה, show favour to us! For we are exceedingly filled with mockery.


Reproach has broken my heart and I am sick; I looked for sympathy, but there was none; And for comforters, but I found none.

but I say to you, do not resist the wicked. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.


“And to him who hits you on the one cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your outer garment, do not withhold the inner garment either.


For you put up with it if anyone enslaves you, if anyone devours you, if anyone takes from you, if anyone exalts himself, if one hits you in the face.
