And he cried out against the slaughter-place by the word of יהוה, and said, “O slaughter-place, slaughter-place! Thus said יהוה, ‘See, a son is to be born to the house of Dawiḏ, Yoshiyahu is his name. And on you he shall slaughter the priests of the high places who burn incense on you, and men’s bones be burned on you.’ ”
Then Yoshiyahu turned, and saw the burial-sites that were there on the mountain. And he sent and took the bones out of the burial-sites and burned them on the slaughter-place, and defiled it according to the word of יהוה which the man of Elohim proclaimed, who proclaimed these words.
And he slaughtered all the priests of the high places who were there, on the slaughter-places, and burned men’s bones on them, and went back to Yerushalayim.
and the corpse of Izeḇel shall be as dung on the surface of the field, in the portion of Yizre‛ĕl, so that they do not say, “This is Izeḇel.” ’ ”
There they are in great fear, Where no fear was, For Elohim shall scatter the bones Of him who encamps against you. You shall put them to shame, For Elohim has rejected them.
And the people to whom they are prophesying shall be thrown out in the streets of Yerushalayim because of the scarcity of food and the sword, with no one to bury them – them nor their wives, their sons nor their daughters. For I shall pour their evil on them.’
The hand of יהוה was upon me and took me out by the Spirit of יהוה, and set me down in the midst of the valley. And it was filled with bones.
“And your slaughter-places shall be ruined, your sun-pillars shall be broken in pieces. And I shall make your slain fall in front of your idols,
and lay the corpses of the children of Yisra’ĕl in front of their idols, and scatter your bones all around your slaughter-places.
Thus said יהוה, “For three transgressions of Mo’aḇ, and for four, I do not turn it back, because he burned the bones of the sovereign of Eḏom to lime.
