Dalet My being has been clinging to the dust; Revive me according to Your word.
It was good for me that I was afflicted, That I might learn Your laws.
I know, O יהוה, That Your right-rulings are righteous, And in trustworthiness You have afflicted me.
יהוה, You brought me up from She’ol; You have kept me alive, from going down into the pit.
Look away from me, That I might brighten up, Before I go away and am no more.
You who have shown me great and evil distresses, Revive me again and bring me up again From the depths of the earth.
You shall meet him who rejoices and does righteousness, who remembers You in Your ways. See, You were wroth when we sinned in them a long time. And should we be saved?
But He answering, said, “It has been written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of יהוה.’ ”
But when we are judged, we are disciplined by the Master, that we should not be condemned with the world.
For this slight momentary pressure is working for us a far more exceeding and everlasting weight of esteem.
And He humbled you, and let you suffer hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, to make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but by every Word that comes from the mouth of יהוה.
Moreover, we indeed had fathers of our flesh disciplining us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live?
