“Thus said יהוה, ‘See, I am raising up evil against you, from your own house, and shall take your wives before your eyes and give them to your neighbour, and he shall lie with your wives in the sight of this sun.


Dalet My being has been clinging to the dust; Revive me according to Your word.


Though I walk in the midst of distress, You revive me; You stretch out Your hand Against the wrath of my enemies, And Your right hand saves me.


For You do not leave my being in She’ol, Neither let Your Lovingly-committed One see corruption.


You have let Your people see hardship; You have made us drink the wine of trembling.


That those You love might be rescued, Save with Your right hand and answer me.


And we shall not backslide from You. Revive us, and let us call upon Your Name.


Would You not revive us again, For Your people to rejoice in You?


For Your loving-commitment is great toward me, And You have delivered my being From the depths of She’ol.


In whose hand are the depths of the earth; The mountain peaks are His also.


Let Your dead live, together with my dead body, let them arise. Awake and sing, you who dwell in dust; for Your dew is a dew of light, and let the earth give birth to the departed spirits.


“See, for peace I had what was bitter, bitter. But You have lovingly delivered my being from the pit of corruption, for You have cast all my sins behind Your back.


“I went down to the base of the mountains, the earth with its bars were behind me forever. But You brought up my life from the pit, O יהוה, my Elohim.


And at the ninth hour יהושע cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Ěli, Ěli, lamah sheḇaqtani?” which is translated,“My Ěl, My Ěl, why have You forsaken Me?”


“Him Elohim raised up, having loosed the pangs of death, because it was impossible that He could be held in its grip.


But what does “He went up” mean, except that He also first went down into the lower parts of the earth?


And I said to him, “Master, you know.” And he said to me, “These are those coming out of the great distress, having washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.


“יהוה puts to death and makes alive, He brings down to She’ol and raises up.
