And all his sons and all his daughters arose to comfort him, but he refused to be comforted, and he said, “Now let me go down into She’ol to my son in mourning.” So his father wept for him.
So they came to Ya‛aqoḇ their father in the land of Kena‛an and reported to him all that befell them, saying,
And Ya‛aqoḇ their father said to them, “You have bereaved me – Yosĕph is no more, and Shim‛on is no more, and you would take Binyamin! All this is against me.”
But he said, “My son is not going down with you, for his brother is dead, and he is left alone. If any harm should come to him along the way in which you go, then you would bring down my grey hair with sorrow to She’ol.”
and the one went out from me, and I said, “Truly, he is torn, torn to pieces!” And I have not seen him since.
And they went up out of Mitsrayim, and came to the land of Kena‛an to Ya‛aqoḇ their father.
And Yisra’ĕl said to Yosĕph, “I had not thought to see your face. But see, Elohim has also shown me your seed!”
I smiled at those who did not believe, and the light of my face they did not dim.
Though I had called and He answered me, I would not believe that He was listening to my voice.
He made him master of his house, And ruler over all his possessions,
When יהוה turns back the captivity of Tsiyon, We shall be like dreamers.
“When my life fainted within me, I remembered יהוה. And my prayer went up to You, into Your set-apart Hĕḵal.
And their words appeared to them to be nonsense, and they did not believe them.
saying, “The Master was truly raised, and has appeared to Shim‛on!”
And while they were still not believing for joy, and marvelling, He said to them, “Have you any food here?”
