It is good to give thanks to יהוה, And to sing praises to Your Name, O Most High;
A clever man is concealing knowledge, But the heart of fools proclaims folly.
The tongue of the wise makes knowledge good, But the mouth of fools pours out foolishness.
So is a man who deceived his neighbour, And says, “I was only joking!”
the beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness, and the end of his talk is wicked madness.
