Then Dawiḏ spoke to יהוה the words of this song, on the day when יהוה had delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Sha’ul.


“For the eyes of יהוה diligently search throughout all the earth, to show Himself to be strong on behalf of those whose heart is perfect to Him. You have acted foolishly in this, so from now on you shall have battles.”

In six distresses He delivers you, and in seven no evil strikes you.


For He stands at the right hand of the poor, To save from those judging his being.


See, the eye of יהוה is on those fearing Him, On those waiting for His loving-commitment,


To deliver their being from death, And to keep them alive during scarcity of food.


יהוה redeems the lives of His servants, And none of those taking refuge in Him are guilty.


Ḥet The messenger of יהוה encamps all around those who fear Him, And rescues them.


יהוה does guard him and keep him alive; He is blessed on the earth, And You do not hand him over To the desire of his enemies.


You who love יהוה, hate evil! He guards the lives of His lovingly-committed ones, He delivers them out of the hand of the wrong.


He answered and said, “Look! I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire. And they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of Elahin.”


Neḇuḵaḏnetstsar responded and said, “Blessed be the Elah of Shaḏraḵ, Mĕyshaḵ, and Aḇĕḏ-Neḡo, who sent His Messenger and delivered His servants who trusted in Him, and changed the sovereign’s order, and gave up their bodies, that they should not serve nor do obeisance to any elah except their own Elah!


“My Elah has sent His messenger and has shut the lions’ mouths, and they did not harm me, because I was found innocent before Him. And also before you, O sovereign, I have done no harm.”


But having come to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I am perishing with hunger!”


And see, a messenger of יהוה stood by, and a light shone in the building. And smiting the side of Kĕpha he raised him up, saying, “Get up quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands.


But after two years had passed Porcius Festus succeeded Felix. And wishing to do the Yehuḏim a favour, Felix left Sha’ul bound.


But Festus, wishing to do the Yehuḏim a favour, answering Sha’ul, said, “Do you wish to go up to Yerushalayim and be judged before me there concerning these matters?”


But a messenger of יהוה opened the prison doors at night and brought them out, and said,


Are they not all serving spirits sent out to attend those who are about to inherit deliverance?


then יהוה knows how to rescue the reverent ones from trial and to keep the unrighteous unto the day of judgment, to be punished,
