And Sovereign Aḥaz went to meet Tiḡlath-Pileser sovereign of Ashshur at Dummeseq, and saw a slaughter-place that was at Dammaseq. And Sovereign Aḥaz sent to Uriyah the priest a sketch of the slaughter-place and its pattern, according to all its workmanship.


And when the sovereign came from Dammeseq, the sovereign saw the slaughter-place, and the sovereign approached the slaughter-place and made offerings on it.


And the bronze slaughter-place which was before יהוה he brought from the front of the House, from between the new slaughter-place and the House of יהוה, and put it on the north side of his slaughter-place.


And Uriyah the priest did according to all that Sovereign Aḥaz commanded.


And he built slaughter-places in the House of יהוה, of which יהוה had said, “In Yerushalayim I put My Name.”


And he placed a carved image of Ashĕrah that he had made in the House of which יהוה had said to Dawiḏ and to Shelomoh his son, “In this house and in Yerushalayim, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Yisra’ĕl, I put My Name forever,


And he built slaughter-places in the House of יהוה, of which יהוה had said, “In Yerushalayim is My Name, forever.”


“And let Me take reliable witnesses to record, Uriyah the priest and Zeḵaryahu son of Yeḇereḵyahu.”


“For both prophet and priest have become defiled. Even in My house I have found their evil,” declares יהוה.


“Her priests have done violence to My teaching and they profane My set-apart matters. They have not distinguished between the set-apart and profane, nor have they made known the difference between the unclean and the clean. And they have hidden their eyes from My Sabbaths, and I am profaned in their midst.


So as soon as all the people heard the sound of the horn, the flute, the zither, the lyre, the harp, all kinds of instruments, all the people, nations, and languages fell down and did obeisance to the gold image that Sovereign Neḇuḵaḏnetstsar had set up.


“My people have perished for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being priest for Me. Since you have forgotten the Torah of your Elohim, I also forget your children.


“Ephrayim is oppressed, crushed in judgment, because he walked after the command when it pleased him.


For do I now persuade men, or Elohim? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I should not be a servant of Messiah.
