And Asa did what was right in the eyes of יהוה, as his father Dawiḏ had done,

And Asa did what was right in the eyes of יהוה, as his father Dawiḏ had done,
And Ěliyahu the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gil‛aḏ, said to Aḥaḇ, “As יהוה Elohim of Yisra’ĕl lives, before whom I stand, there shall be no dew or rain these years, except at my word.”
And he walked in all the ways of his father Asa. He did not turn aside from them, doing what was right in the eyes of יהוה. Only, the high places were not taken away, for the people slaughtered and burned incense on the high places.
And it came to be, when יהוה was to take up Ěliyahu to the heavens by a whirlwind, that Ěliyahu went with Elisha from Gilgal.
And it came to be, as they continued on and spoke, that see, a chariot of fire with horses of fire which separated the two of them. And Ěliyahu went up by a whirlwind into the heavens.
So Aḇiyah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the City of Dawiḏ. And Asa his son reigned in his place. In his days the land rested ten years.
“Take a scroll and write on it all the words that I have spoken to you against Yisra’ĕl, and against Yehuḏah, and against all the nations, from the day I spoke to you, from the days of Yoshiyahu even to this day.
Then it came to be, when Yehuḏi had read three or four columns, that the sovereign cut it with the scribe’s knife and threw it into the fire that was on the hearth, until the entire scroll was burned in the fire that was on the hearth.
At that moment the fingers of a man’s hand appeared and wrote opposite the lampstand on the plaster of the wall of the sovereign’s palace. And the sovereign saw the part of the hand that wrote.
