Kim Jong-un promotes self-worship by forcing North Koreans to worship him

Just about to be a decade in the supreme power of North Korea, the current chief executive plans to surpass his predecessors, taking idolatry and worship of him to a new level.

Kim Jong-un is about to turn 10 years as president of North Korea, and according to the experts’ point of view, he appears to be following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather.

According to the information provided, the North Korean dictator is determined to promote an ideology based on worshiping himself, in order to strengthen his leadership in the oppressed country he leads.

This pseudo-religious ideology has been baptized with the name of Kim Jong-un-ism, being revealed for the first time by the South Korean Intelligence recently.

Taking into account the opinion of the experts in this matter, the possible objective of the president would be to establish an independent ideological system, where his figure is the most important.

To give greater veracity to this hypothesis, it was taken into account the fact that the idolatrous propaganda that revolved around his predecessors disappeared. His father was Kim Jong-il, and his grandfather, Kim Il-sung who was the founder of the dynasty in which his family has ruled.

Another of the signs was mentioned during the eighth Congress of the North Korean Workers’ Party in January.

According to Lee Sang-sook, a research professor at the South Korean Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security, the party’s rules were revised to “put Kim Jong-un’s ideology at the forefront.”

Religious affairs within North Korea are usually quite a sensitive issue, due to the ideology that the current president has imposed regarding beliefs.

Although it is known that Christianity is prohibited within the territory and that anyone who practices it is punishable by death, torture or imprisonment, its rulers have tried to put themselves as figures worthy of adoration and admiration by the citizens.

Since the administration of Kim Il-sung, he and the other presidents who have taken power have taken it upon themselves to make their own image as if they were “gods” by raising statues and excessive publicity towards themselves; thus making the world believe that the only religion allowed within the country is the cult to themselves.

However, in circumstances like these, God’s opinion in the Bible is clear. He has established that there is no one like Him and that He is the only one who deserves glory, honor and praise (Psalm 145:3)

Christian communities within North Korean territory have remained faithful to the truth of Jesus Christ, many of them stating that they are capable of dying from faith if discovered.

There is a calling to the Church of Christ to keep North Korean believers in their prayers, asking God to grant them deliverance from the oppression and that they can continue to spread the gospel with boldness and courage despite obstacles.
